Genesis 9:13-15:
“I set My bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a sign of a covenant between Me and the earth. It shall come about, when i bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow will be seen in the cloud, and i will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and never again shall the water become a flood to destroy all flesh.” (NASB)

many times when we see a rainbow, we only think of how beautiful it is. we look at its physical appearance and exclaim at its beauty. however, there is much more to the rainbow than its physical appearance.

it is actually a covenant between God and us. that He will never again flood the whole earth and destroy all of us. ( i pondered over this before. haven’t there been floods that killed people? but in this verse it says, ALL flesh. so i believe what it means is that there will not be a flood that wipes out the WHOLE earth)

it is by His grace that we will not be subjected to another flood of that kind. God never ever forgets the promises He makes to us.

what about us? do we sometimes forget the promises we make to God?
