busan trip 7-10july!
it was a trip mostly filled with wind and rain. but thank God it was bright and sunny on the last day...
not all the 9 of of us from ntu went on this trip. only 4 of us girls went together. the other 5 of them went to seoul on a day trip and KTVed in daejeon...
the 4 of us on this trip were all from girl guides too! strong girls!! haha. enjoyed their company :)
haha i jing qing de spent my money cuz it was my last week in korea! but in the end, still had money left hahaha.

day 1 - 7th july
- travelling, seomyeon shopping area

our train was scheduled to depart daejeon at 9.21am.
we very confidently decided to meet at 8.45am to take a cab down to the station... BUT
like how all adventures start, it was raining and there were MANY people queuing for cabs at the taxi stand too.
we managed to get onto a cab at ard 9 and that was after asking someone to let us cut queue because we were running late!
the cab driver said that it was impossible to reach by 9.21!! haha.
there was a massive jam due to the morning peak period + rain...
and although he went by a shortcut, and we ran all the way from the station in the rain, we still MISSED the train!! a first. hahaha.
decided to try if we could change the timing and we could! but with a penalty of 2500won (ard 3sgd)
so we happily had our breakfast and had plenty of time for photo-taking.
tried the pong pong bing that jandi sold on the highway in BOF :)
it was pretty nice... rice cracker that is slightly sweet. less crispy than wangwang...

of course we took the slowest and cheapest train being the poor students we are, and we arrived at busan after 3.5hours =D
surprisingly the interior of the train was pretty nice for a mugunghwa. really much better than the one we took to seoul.
my friend later found out that the first & last carriage were nicer than the other carriages...
and guess what, i had a nice carriage on the return journey too!! haha.
it was pouring heavily in busan and our umbrellas spoilt due to the super strong wind there!
headed to the seomyeon area for shopping...
and!! the underground shopping centre was somehow closed that day!! =((
oh well, we still walked around outside and tried the lu bian tan at the food alley :) it was there where i had the worst mandu (rice dumpling) in the whole of korea.
the squid pancake and fish jelly were nice though.

day 2 - 8th july
- jagalchi fish market, nampodong, PIFF square

we woke up bright and early to go to the fish market! it was drizzling by the time we reached there... still managed to take photos though. haha. thank God the wind wasn't strong.
bought some dried cuttlefish there and we had our fresh raw fish meal! (part of the reason why i visited busan)

we went shopping at the nampodong area but didnt buy anything much...
had krispy kreme again though :)
and ice cream... FATSssssss.
headed to PIFF square at night and saw the many lu bian tans selling all sorts of things...

day 3 - 9th july
- haeundae beach, JUMP! performance

headed to haeundae beach first thing in the morning.
looks pretty much the same the last time i was there.
the wind was fierce! super strong and the sand blew hard against our legs...
first time i felt that wind really can kill man...
quickly took some shots...
had lunch at KFC to shield us from the wind... i was really praying that it wouldn't rain cuz i was sure my umbrella couldnt hold up in such wind. hahah.
btw, i also snapped some shots of the scenery from the hostel too =D really nice right??

that day, 2 of them left for daejeon and 2 of us stayed an extra day :)
i wanted to watch a korean performance badly because of the superb nanta show i watched in korea last year. another reason why i went to busan too... haha. cuz i didnt want to go to seoul again and since busan also has jump performances, i decided to go...
was initially planning to watch it alone even but in the end, my roomie watched it with me and she liked it a lot ;)
btw, jump is going to be shown at the esplanade soon... be sure to catch it! haha.

pictures of the food we had that day!
from left to right:
KFC tower burger (consisting of chicken, hashbrown & cheese)
KFC fries
waffle mochi icecream
BBQed eel
BBQed eel after adding rice

fan tuan!
the eel meal

after the performance we actually wanted to go to gwangalli bridge for the night scenery but it suddenly poured!!
thank God there wasnt strong winds though and i could use my spoiled umbrella. :)

day 4 - 10th july
- pusan uni shopping area, seomyeon underground shopping centre

that day my friend and i split up and went our separate ways :)
did that in japan too and i kinda enjoyed it.
i went first to the pusan uni shopping area...
after seeing many kids choosing apple mint for their ice cream flavour at baskin robbins, i decided to try it too...! and it was nice! (yes, icecream again. so for this trip, 3/4 days i ate icecream. in fact i thk more than 30 out of the 45days in korea, i had ice cream)
it was nice sitting by the window in baskin robbins watching the people on the street go by enjoying my apple mint ice cream...
got myself a bag, a ziploc bag for stuffing clothes!! & some faceshop products...
was soon bored of the place and i still had time to kill.

headed to the underground shopping centre which was closed the other day and it was like our underground shopping centre in daejeon!
tried the lu bian tan fruit juice over at seomyeon and also had PB bread! one of my last times eating it...
got myself a shirt there...
when i got tired, i sat down and started people-watching again. my favourite hobby. haha.
as i was walking back to the subway station near my hostel to meet my friend, i stopped by hot tracks which was a really nice underground book store with a huge stationery section...

met up with her, got our bags from the hostel and trained back to daejeon! hui jia le! =D
